Editorial standards
How the content on this website is written, sourced, reviewed and corrected. Published because a therapy website making health claims should be able to show its working.
Who writes this
All clinical and service content on this website is written or reviewed by a qualified practitioner working within our service. Nothing describing a therapeutic method, a risk, or a recommended course of action is published without that review.
What we source and how
Where we describe a therapeutic approach, we describe methods that have an established evidence base for behavioural addiction, and we describe them as they are actually delivered here — not as an idealised version.
Where we cite prevalence figures or statistics, we draw on published UK research and official statistics, and we label figures as indicative rather than presenting them with false precision. If a figure on this site matters to a decision you are making, ask us for the source and we will give it to you.
What we do not publish
- No success rates or cure claims. Therapy outcomes depend on too many variables for a headline percentage to be honest.
- No identifiable client testimonials. People in recovery are not marketing assets, and consent given in early recovery is not reliably free consent. Where we illustrate a common experience, it is an anonymised composite and it is labelled as one.
- No fabricated credentials, awards or endorsements. Every qualification, membership and registration we state is one we hold and can evidence.
- No AI-generated filler. Pages exist because they answer a real question, not to occupy a keyword.
- No gambling content. No odds, tips, reviews, bonus offers, operator links or affiliate links appear anywhere on this site.
Commercial independence
We take no money from the gambling industry and no payment for any link or mention on this website. Our resources page lists free services that compete with us, because that is what an honest resources page looks like. Our only revenue is client fees.
Review cycle
Clinical pages are reviewed at least annually, and sooner if guidance changes. Contact details, fees and third-party service information are checked whenever they change and at each annual review. Legal pages carry a “last updated” date.
Corrections
If you find something on this website that is inaccurate, out of date or misleading, tell us at hello@gamblingtherapycentre.com. We will check it, correct it if you are right, and say so. We would rather be corrected than be wrong in public.
Accessibility
This site is built to be readable and navigable: semantic HTML, visible keyboard focus, sufficient colour contrast, no auto-playing media, no pop-ups or interstitials, and full functionality without a mouse. If any part of it is difficult for you to use, tell us and we will fix it.
